The Challenge

Daimler wanted a digital signage solution for its showrooms in dealerships, across South East Asia in the first instance, with subsequent roll out to the rest of Asia and Africa. Daimler had many criteria to meet, especially that of security. In addition, the system had to be totally secure; in the event of any network failure, the display solution was required to have next to know downtime.

As the proposed system was to run across many countries, a centrally managed solution was preferred, especially as Daimler have strict guidelines on their corporate identity.

 

The Solution

The over-riding factor in selecting wowVISTA was the assurance that in the event of network failure, the downtime on the digital signage would be minimised as wowVISTA could be maintained both on and offline. The solution was designed specifically for Daimler to ensure network security wasn’t compromised and in the event of network failure, the system could be rebooted simply by the software provided on a thumb drive – the ‘pack and go’ feature.

At the time of writing, the Daimler wowVISTA solution is installed in 5 countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam) with content being streamed to all showrooms in these countries. The central management of the system was set up in the regional HQ in Singapore but still enables input from country managers to contribute localised content.

Each screen in every showroom can be split in 2 or more ways, enabling corporate content to be shown simultaneously with local, customised content e.g. sales offers, showroom hours etc.

Training was provided on setting up templates and how to manage graphics and content so consistency in different locations could easily be maintained. Daimler could therefore control both content and standards in brand identity.
